So long as I have not overthrown my enemy, he may overthrow me. Thus I am not in control: he dictates to me as much as I dictate to him. – Carl von Clausewitz, On War.

Synergy is, in my humble opinion, the most important factor in the success of any product, team, color combination, or thing. It creates a feedback loop that builds upon itself, reinforces itself, and defines itself.

Skans, pronounced “sconce” is my word for that one spot. That one place or sound that relaxes you completely, disarms your defenses and lets you feel completely at ease. Sometimes it’s a congruence of events – a beer and a ballgame or that period after working out where you lose your hearing and everything becomes muted. You feel the slow beats of the room wash over your shoulders, and a deep breath feels like the slightest sip of the coolest mountain air.
